Tastes of the North

Tastes of the North is a unique retail space featuring NWT made, grown, harvested, and processed food and food related products.  Visitors will learn about featured entrepreneurs as well as the NWT agri-food sector as a whole while picking up northern food products.  

 

Inside the store, visitors can meet with our team to explore how to join the dynamic growing NWT agri-food sector themselves.  Whether learning about unique Northern farming conditions or exploring innovative ideas for food production, our team will help interested visitors identify their potential place in the NWT agri-food value chain and work with them to help remove any barriers to entry.

 

Tastes of the North focuses on highlighting and promoting  food entrepreneurs and their products from all over the NWT and acts as an incubator for new entrants and an accelerator for more established foodpreneurs through our network of local and national colleagues, connections and sister organizations.  Whether it is learning how to turn an idea into a business, scaling a recipe for commercialization or solving stability problems with a food scientist, our team can help NWT foodprenuers solve their commercialization challenges.

 

Tastes of the North is also positioned as a destination for visiting national and international dignitaries and officials wanting to learn more about Northern food. We will curate gift baskets of Northern food for conferences and tradeshows and help our vendors get their products into the right hands when they wish to expand their reach.

 

All retail store profits are returned to vendors through vendor services and supports.

 

 

Tastes  of the North is the business arm of the not for profit Territorial Agri-food Association(TAA) and as such does not access any government funding or grants received by the TAA .
